The Vision

We envision the individual and collective healing of generations of people who have been historically marginalized. We firmly believe that when one heals, we all heal. It is our vision to normalize the healing experience by having a place where we DO talk and address the tough stuff, and break cycles of trauma.

Our Values are Rooted in:

Healing

We believe that by healing the individual, and changing gene expression, the trajectory of the individual is positively impacted, but also how they contribute to the world. We also believe that healing is not just excluded to talk therapy, which is why various services are provided to tend to the whole person.

Authenticity

We encourage you to bring your whole self, this is the space where society’s labels and pressures on how you “should” talk or dress are gone. We also encourage our providers to show up as they are whether that is not covering piercings, body art, or appearance. We strive to practice what we preach, and more importantly, with authenticity comes a sense of mutual trust we value.

Wellness

We don’t just want our clients to survive, but we want them to thrive and achieve a state of wellness where they can experience rest, connection, and tend to various domains of their life that includes: social relationships, financial, spiritual, and physical wellness.

Community

We cannot do this alone, and is for that reason that we seek to partner with other agencies, healers, and community partners. We do not just serve our community, but we are very much part of it and will aim to show up and demonstrate solidarity around important issues.

Spirituality

We believe that healing cycles of trauma are ancestral and therefore spiritual. We recognize that for some, their spiritual or faith practice is very much part of their mental health practice, while for others, it may be a source of pain. We encourage you to voice treatment preferences surrounding this and not feel like your spiritual self will not be embraced. We have found that welcoming, and honoring what this may look like for our clients, significantly improves treatment outcomes.

Liberation

We believe that healing is a social justice issue, and to heal is a form of radical liberation. To overcome one’s struggles is to reclaim what may have been lost and leave room to create new experiences and opportunities.

Meet Our Founder

Yesenia Villalta, LCSW

Knowledge and empowerment are key components of the work I do with my clients. What this means is that we will explore your narratives while understanding psychological components and exploring spiritual, cultural, and environmental factors that influence them so you can re-write them from a place of power and agency.

I use embodiment practices including yoga to help tap in to soothe your nervous system.  The goal is to meet you where you are in terms of values, interests, and learning styles. We can incorporate faith, spirituality, use of books and literature-these are all tools to support you in however you may need.

I am also DBT-informed and will draw on skills and handouts to support in providing you with a clear strategy or skill post-session. You are a holistic being, so we treat you as such and may explore the connection between mind and body particularly with folks who experience disordered eating as a way to cope with difficulties of life.

My previous experiences include Child Protective Services, Intensive In-Home Services, Domestic Violence Shelter, and Community Mental Health. I believe in promoting healing in all its forms because healing is not linear, and I believe the client is an expert of their own experience. I view myself as a guide and a bridge here to empower you with knowledge and tools. Treating the whole person is my goal, and I know first hand the positive impacts various modalities had on my own recovery journey.

My Why

Because creating and sharing sacred spaces are important.

Because knowledge and healing comes in many forms and should be accessible to all.

Because the journey to finding home can be scary yet powerful and liberating.

Because when you heal, you heal generational curses and relationships rooted in dysfunction.

Because I believe it's time to heal, individually and collectively for our past, present, and future.

Because once upon a time, I was stuck between past/present and my inner-child needed tending to, and I know it would not be possible to live the life I do now if I had not stepped into the unknown in my healing journey.
